Job Summary

As a Project Expeditor at FLSmidth & Co. A/S, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of projects from vendors for services, components, equipment, documentation, and engineering. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate expediting strategies for the manufacturing facility, ensuring that committed project schedules for equipment and documentation delivery are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal project information flows with Planners, Engineering, Procurement, QC, and floor managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Analyze and identify variances to work flow or schedules in either vendor or FLS programs, and implement corrective actions to resolve conflicts or interfaces.
  • Prepare supporting information required for periodic progress reports, including manufacturing schedules and documentation status reports.
  • Coordinate internal and sub-supplier documentation requirements to establish project document delivery schedules for input to the FLSmidth document control system.
  • Assist the team in developing and implementing scheduling techniques and practices.
  • Record and maintain expediting information in the purchasing system, including pertinent expediting records for each vendor, and retain schedule history and other documentation for future reference.
  • Lead efforts to resolve payment delays that may impact deliveries.
  • Visit suppliers as required to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to review and interpret Packing Lists, bills of lading, customer orders, and other documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and train others as needed.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Outlook, Excel, UPS WorldShip, and FedEx Ship Manager.
  • Self-starter with high organizational skills and attention to detail.
