Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Coder I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to the appropriate classification system for inpatient encounters and outpatient encounters.

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. This full-time position is based in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, providing an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to official coding guidelines and APCs reimbursement expertise.
  • Use knowledge of ICD-10 classifications, CPT-4, and HCPCS to assign accurate codes.
  • Work collaboratively with the HIM Director and Coding Manager to ensure high-quality coding practices.

Requirements:

  • Current coding certification (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS)
  • 0-1 year of coding experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Knowledge of information privacy laws and high ethical standards
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
