About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Designer to join our team at Larson Design Group. As a key member of our Energy department, you will be responsible for completing intermediate to advanced civil engineering drafting and design tasks, autonomously applying engineering principles and making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Utilize AutoDesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other Civil Engineering-related software programs to develop technically accurate and high-quality deliverables.
  • Stormwater Management: Aid in the development of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and construction plans while under the direction of a Professional Engineer. Ability to analyze design alternatives to develop cost-effective solutions to project challenges.
  • Drawing Sets: Coordinate the preparation of advanced multi-discipline drawing sets as required for assigned projects, including coordination with technical, administrative, and other design staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.
  • Design Standards: Researches, reviews, interprets, and understands written design standards, regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and applies them to design projects.
  • Design Calculations: Assists with design calculations, calculates quantities, reviews technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates.
  • Team Efficiency: Aids in enhancing the team's overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
  • Experience: Minimum four (4) years' experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possess strong independent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D required. Advanced Civil 3D skills preferred.
  • Civil Software Experience: Proficiency in ArcGIS, Hydraflow Hydrographs, and other civil related software experience preferred.
