We are seeking a skilled and compassionate OB Technician to join our team at Mercy. As a key member of our obstetric care team, you will provide essential support to patients and healthcare professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the provision of patient care, including clerical support and surgical assistance
- Work collaboratively with nursing and medical staff to maintain a safe and efficient patient care environment
- Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks, including phlebotomy, transport of specimens, and patient registration
- Support the nursing team and patients by providing supportive care and assistance with ADL's to newborns, childbearing and postpartum patients, pediatric patients, and others as assigned
- Maintain calm and work efficiently and effectively through obstetrical emergencies, as part of the team
- High-School Diploma or GED required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Surgical Technology experience required at hire or completion of a unit-based competency within a specified time frame
- Ability to understand English both written and spoken, and to perform job-related functions safely and successfully
