Job Summary:
Thomas Jefferson University/Jefferson Health is seeking an experienced Primary Care Physician to serve as an IM Preceptor in our resident clinic. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our rotating IM residents in an outpatient setting, providing clinical guidance and supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical guidance and supervision to IM residents in an outpatient setting
- Precept up to 4 residents at a time, adhering to CMS supervision guidelines
- Work with the Internal Medicine Program Director, office manager, and DIO to achieve clinical, operational, patient experience, and staff experience goals
- Provide residents with performance data on chronic disease management and preventative healthcare
- Oversee resident-developed action plans for addressing quality care gaps during patient care hours
- Instruct residents in and monitor appropriate use of Evaluation and Management Documentation as per CMS guidelines
- Provide timely feedback and evaluation to residents
- Oversee outpatient procedures required by the American Board of Internal Medicine and/or IM residency program
Requirements:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school or foreign equivalent
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
- Board eligibility/certification in Internal Medicine
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted PA medical license and DEA license
- Experience teaching residents
- Basic understanding of Quality Improvement principles and processes
- Preferred experience with outpatient Internal Medicine procedures, such as joint injections
