Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated nursing professional to deliver comprehensive healthcare services in a correctional environment. The role involves executing medical protocols as directed by authorized healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to established regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and document medications, including those refused by patients.
  • Conduct medication inventory and accountability checks with a second nurse.
  • Assess and document patient admissions to the facility as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate nursing progress notes for patient care.
  • Diagnose and manage health issues presented by patients.
  • Perform EKGs and blood draws, demonstrating strong assessment capabilities.
  • Identify and evaluate new symptoms or complications through health assessments.
  • Provide restorative or palliative care to patients in need.
  • Educate and counsel patients on health maintenance and illness prevention.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to address patient needs.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or medical-surgical settings.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including word processing and scheduling software.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Positions available for full-time or part-time work.

Shift Availability: Various shifts are available, with a primary need for evening and overnight coverage.
Contract Duration: Up to 2 years.
