Company Overview

Austintown Local Schools is seeking a dedicated Custodian/Sweeper Cleaner to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school facilities.

Salary and Benefits

The starting rate for this position is $13.25 per hour, with monthly accumulated paid sick leave and three paid personal days per school year. Additionally, employees must adhere to all board policies, state, and federal laws, and the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education.

Job Description

This 9-month contract (school calendar plus 5 days) requires the Sweeper Cleaner to perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas, including reporting unsafe conditions and unauthorized persons. The employee must be physically capable of performing job duties that may include lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, and moving heavy objects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have previous cleaning experience and meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks
  • Successful completion of the skills test when applicable
  • Negative drug screen

Contract Hours and Report Time

The Sweeper Cleaner will work 5.75 hours per day, from 4 pm to 9:45 pm, during the 2024-2025 school year. Employees are expected to be punctual and capable of completing all job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
