Position Overview

The Zoning Analyst I plays a vital role within the Zoning department. This position involves collaborating with municipal employees nationwide to verify zoning classifications, jurisdictions, and compliance. The role demands exceptional multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to maintain effective communication with municipal contacts. Critical thinking is essential for preparing Zoning Compliance Reports and engaging with a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct various types of zoning reports, including standard zoning reports, renewal reports, and document retrievals.
  • Extract and analyze zoning codes from public databases.
  • Communicate with municipal zoning departments via phone and email to confirm property statuses.
  • Examine municipal documents for accuracy and completeness regarding the property in question.
  • Prepare a minimum of 5 Zoning Compliance Reports weekly by assessing property conformity.
  • Maintain records and respond to client inquiries using proprietary systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-solving abilities commensurate with responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Preferred Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in commercial real estate or zoning analysis is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is office-based and eligible for telework. Some travel may be required.
