Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team at Glens Falls Hospital. As a Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of educational programs for nursing staff, with a focus on oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff, including workshops, training sessions, and online courses.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Practice and Professional Development to ensure alignment with hospital goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of clinical nurse educators, unit operations coordinators, and education trainers.
  • Monitor daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently, and timely.
  • Assist with interviews, such as new department members, nurse residents, etc.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • 5 years of clinical experience required, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, as evidenced by previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator.
Skills and Abilities
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach individuals and groups of learners.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with patients and professionals of all disciplines.
  • Ability to develop broad concepts into practical applications.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • BLS certification required.
  • BLS Instructor required.
  • ANCC Board Certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred or within 2 years.
  • Board Certification in assigned service line specialty preferred.
Salary and Benefits

The expected base rate for this position is $34.19 to $51.29 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis, commensurate with experience level, education, and certifications.
