About the Role:
">- The Obstetric Surgical Specialist in Labor and Delivery at Piedmont Augusta Hospital is responsible for managing surgical instruments and supplies during obstetrical operations.
- This individual must have a solid understanding of surgical procedures and ensure quality patient care while maintaining a sterile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit.
- Have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
- Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintain vigilance for the maintenance of the sterile field.
- Perform patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR one year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist OR three years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
- BLS certification required. NRP preferred. Completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and orientation to learn surgical asepsis is also preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
