Position: Linux Administrator
Location: Chandler, AZ
Key Skills:
Proficiency in RedHat Linux and Shell scripting is essential.
Experience in support and operational roles is required.
Familiarity with Python scripting is advantageous.
Knowledge of distributed databases such as Redis or MemSQL is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily administration support and maintenance for existing and new NoSQL databases in both production and non-production settings.
• Conduct debugging, tuning, and performance enhancements, along with automating operational and continuous integration aspects of the NoSQL platform.
• Develop shell scripts to automate the installation and support of NoSQL databases.
• Utilize DevOps tools like Bladelogic to create, maintain, and execute jobs.
• Identify inefficiencies within current databases and implement improved solutions.
• Assist in planning and executing capacity and resource expansions to ensure database scalability.
• Support developers in schema modifications and database access management.
• Aid in planning and executing database upgrades and migrations.
Required Experience:
• Relevant experience in UNIX systems and shell scripting, along with the design, maintenance, and administration of NoSQL databases (Redis, MemSQL, CockroachDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as BladeLogic and Ansible is essential.
• Previous experience in high-volume environments is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive understanding of cluster management, including node management, consistency tuning, replication, and multi-DC configuration.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring, management, capacity planning, and compaction strategies.
• Good understanding of database backup and recovery, connectivity, security, and role management.
Compensation:
The expected annual salary for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000. This position is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits, which include a comprehensive range of medical and dental options, disability insurance, and paid time off, including sick leave and other leave options.
