Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Housekeeping and Laundry Services Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our housekeeping and laundry services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality cleaning and laundry services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor-intensive tasks utilizing cleaning equipment, laundry and dry cleaning equipment, and sewing machinery.
  • Ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including laundry and dry cleaning operations.
  • Apply knowledge of dry cleaning techniques and laundry operations, as well as standard practices and procedures of tailoring.
  • Ability to interpret and follow direction, as well as communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Follow industry-specific guidelines and safety regulations, including blood-borne pathogens and OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Apply knowledge of cleaning techniques and proper use of chemicals and solutions.
  • Ability to use industrial-grade equipment and lift/push/pull 20-50lbs.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required.
  • No licensure required.

Work Environment
  • Sitting/standing for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent bending/stooping/traveling (distance: 1-2 miles/day).
  • Climbing (ladder, steps) and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
