Job Summary

The Communications and Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in assisting the Undergraduate Education Marketing and Communications Manager in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies for Undergraduate Education units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote services, programs, resources, opportunities, and unit-specific information for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Design and create digital graphics and content that align with the IU brand identity.
  • Assist in creating, managing, and overseeing marketing and communications efforts to promote Undergraduate Education units, including brainstorming, planning, executing, and distributing content on various platforms.
  • Coordinate event marketing strategies and materials for small and large-scale events.
  • Manage the publication of various newsletters, including information gathering, writing, editing, formatting, and scheduling.
  • Administer website management, updating websites regarding alerts, events, and minor content updates in conjunction with Undergraduate Education IT.
  • Conceptualize, create, and implement visual media products, including graphics, photos, and videos using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Analyze marketing data analytics and institutional reports to inform communications and student engagement strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations, or a related field.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient communication skills, time management, and priority setting skills.
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
