Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients of all ages.

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures.
• Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of patient served in assigned area.

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS obtained in 90 days.

• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

The Respiratory Therapist will work in a patient care area, exposed to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent may be required to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
