Janitorial Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Janitor to join our team at Skookum. As a Janitor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Restroom Cleaning: Sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, and restock supplies.
  • Office Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and vacuum according to schedule, and spot entry doors.
  • Cleaning Halls and High-Traffic Areas: Sweep, mop, and vacuum according to schedule.
  • Trash Collection: Collect trash in all appropriate areas.
  • Restocking Supplies: Restock supplies daily.
  • Dusting: Dust in lunch/coffee areas, restrooms, locker areas, and dust-free areas only.
  • Cleaning Stairwells: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wipe handrails according to schedule.
  • Maintaining Lockers: Clean and organize lockers.
  • Customer Communication: Be courteous and communicate professionally with customers.

Requirements:

  • 6 months of experience in a custodial capacity is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of work areas at the Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
  • Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
