Job Summary

Missouri Delta Medical Center is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our nursing department, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Explain procedures to patients prior to initiation and participate in instruction as necessary.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients, even if they appear unresponsive.
  • Serve meals, assist with meals, and feed patients in an unhurried manner.
  • Turn patients, transfer them to chairs, and ambulate them according to activity orders.
  • Measure intake and output, and record accurately.
  • Provide post-mortem care according to policy.
  • Obtain and record temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, O2 saturation, and weights as ordered.
  • Keep hallways, nurses' stations, clean and dirty utility rooms, and linen carts in order. Maintain patient environments neat and orderly.
  • Report abnormal intake/output/vital signs/elimination or any change in patient condition to team leaders/charge nurses.
  • Promote good public relations for the nursing department/hospital.
  • Record nursing care provided in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Respect the confidentiality of patient, hospital, and physician-related information.
  • Provide for patient privacy at all times.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement.
  • Assist in admissions, transfers, and discharges. Collect and document patient admission data correctly. Secure disposition of patient belongings.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests, special procedures, and specimen collection as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members to provide quality patient care.
  • Competently perform core and unit-specific clinical skills.
  • Answer call lights timely, ensure personal articles and call lights are within reach and available for use.
  • Knowledgeable of proper and safe use of patient care equipment.
  • Utilize basic problem-solving skills to prevent/resolve issues.
  • One-on-one monitoring of patients as assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved Certified Nurse Assistant course.
  • BLS training.
  • Previous Nurse Assistant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
