Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team at Mary Lanning Healthcare. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including dementia, post-surgical needs, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer, and COVID-19.
  • Collaborate with nurse aides to manage patient care effectively, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
  • Work closely with respiratory therapists to manage CPAP usage and monitor patients with telemetry.
  • Participate in holiday rotations, working every third holiday, including one winter holiday.
  • Float to the Progressive Care Unit as needed to handle Med Surg overflow or low-acuity PCU.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical setting.
  • Current licensure and certifications, including BLS and NIHSS.
  • Experience with chest tubes, pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care is preferred.
  • Charge nurse experience is a plus but not required.
