Position Overview:
As a key member of Ausenco, you will contribute to our mission of redefining possibilities in complex projects and challenging environments. We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual with a strong commitment to maintaining our high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, identify, and compile observational and spatial data related to various ecological aspects, including vegetation, wildlife, and environmental samples.
- Utilize topographic maps, aerial imagery, and GPS technology to accurately determine project locations and habitat types.
- Assist in the preparation of biological survey reports, data entry, impact assessments, and permitting activities for various projects.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards for precise measurements and statistical analysis.
- Conduct professional biology work, including investigations and environmental studies to address specific ecological issues.
- Create data visualizations, including tables and charts, to effectively present findings and analyses.
- Draft technical reports summarizing research findings, ensuring documentation is thorough and accurate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in biological surveys, fieldwork, and habitat assessments.
- Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations, including the Endangered Species Act and Clean Water Act.
- Experience with NEPA and CEQA processes.
- Proficiency in electronic data collection and spatial data interpretation.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of local ecology and habitats.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences.
- Critical thinking abilities to analyze data and solve ecological challenges.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
- Exceptional technical writing skills for reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of Spanish is advantageous.
