Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Cellar Operator plays a crucial role in the production of our cider blends and the upkeep of the cellar and its equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating fermentation and product blends by accurately following recipe guidelines.
  • Submitting analytical samples for quality assessment.
  • Adhering to all standard operating procedures within the cellar.
  • Disassembling and reassembling cellar equipment for cleaning and sanitization.
  • Conducting environmental cleaning in fermentation and blending areas.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on cellar equipment.
  • Executing general repairs as directed by the Cellar Supervisor.
  • Following all safety protocols.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of experience in brewing or manufacturing, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate a solid understanding of fermentation and blending processes within six months.
  • Basic proficiency in math and English is essential.
  • Familiarity with control screens for initiating and stopping CIP operations.
  • Capability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues affecting cellar operations.
  • Basic project management skills to complete tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Forklift certification is advantageous.
Physical Requirements

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable using protective equipment while handling chemicals.
  • Routine exposure to cleaning and production line chemicals.
  • Position involves light maintenance work in a mechanical environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands and arms are required.
  • Job is performed standing on a concrete surface for extended periods.
  • Significant movement is necessary, including walking, bending, lifting, and grasping.
