Job Title: Patrol Officer

Join the City of Williston, ND, as a Patrol Officer and contribute to maintaining a safe and secure community. As a key member of our law enforcement team, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, preventing crimes, and providing excellent customer service to the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol designated areas of the city to preserve law and order, discover and prevent crimes, and enforce traffic laws and ordinances.
  • Respond to emergency calls, investigate incidents, and provide assistance to the public.
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
  • Prepare and serve search and arrest warrants, apprehend and arrest offenders, and control and mitigate hostile situations.
  • Provide support and assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including preparing reports, maintaining records, and participating in training and professional development.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional college-level coursework and specialized training in law enforcement or a related field highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and possession of a North Dakota Peace Officer license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think clearly and act quickly in emergency situations, and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the public, other law enforcement agencies, and community groups.
