The Department of Chemistry at The University of Kentucky is seeking highly motivated and talented undergraduates to fill positions as Undergraduate Instructional Assistants Type 2 (UIA-II), also known as Peer Leaders (PLs) for the ChemExcel program. As a PL, you will be part of a team that fosters academic excellence and provides valuable learning experiences for students.

Job Description

The main responsibility of a PL is to lead small groups of students in the ChemExcel program. This entails facilitating discussions, answering questions, and providing guidance on course material. Additionally, PLs are expected to assist instructors with lesson planning, prepare materials for classes, and help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and possess a strong understanding of chemistry concepts. They should also be patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to changing situations.
