Job Summary:
Mississippi State Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Recreational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating complex recreation-based or music-based treatment programs for individuals with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their recreational and therapeutic needs, and develop individualized treatment plans to address these needs.
- Program Development and Implementation: Design and implement recreation-based and music-based treatment programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Activity Coordination: Coordinate and lead recreational activities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, and outdoor recreation, to promote patient engagement and participation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatment plans, and program evaluations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field.
- Current certification as a Recreational Therapist (CRT) or Registered Recreational Therapist (RRT).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
