Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpreting courses at the Virginia Community College System. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ASL and Interpreting, with experience teaching at the college level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ASL and Interpreting courses to students at the Virginia Community College System
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
Requirements
  • Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in American Sign Language, Interpreting, or a related field
  • Experience teaching ASL and Interpreting courses at the college level
  • Strong knowledge of instructional technologies and ability to use technology to enhance instruction
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching all levels of ASL and Interpreting courses
  • Strong background in Deaf culture and community
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff
