Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpreting courses at the Virginia Community College System. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ASL and Interpreting, with experience teaching at the college level.
Key Responsibilities- Teach ASL and Interpreting courses to students at the Virginia Community College System
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
- Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in American Sign Language, Interpreting, or a related field
- Experience teaching ASL and Interpreting courses at the college level
- Strong knowledge of instructional technologies and ability to use technology to enhance instruction
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse student population
- Experience teaching all levels of ASL and Interpreting courses
- Strong background in Deaf culture and community
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff
