Scalehouse Attendant Landfill

Job Summary

Serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a Waste Management Facility; calculates payments, checks loads, and ensures the safety of the customer and other employees through observation of safety rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers, direct traffic, and answer questions accurately.
• Calculate payments for customers.
• Ensure incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain inappropriate material.
• Ensure customers and employees conduct business in a safe manner and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Provide general upkeep of the Scale House.
• Complete administrative tasks, including filing and required reports.
• Keep immediate supervisor informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
• Attend company-sponsored training and meetings as directed.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties, including data entry and minor customer service responsibilities.
• Approach all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: No prior work experience required.

Work Environment

• Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity part of the work day.
• Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds occasionally.
• Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks occasionally.
• Required to be exposed to physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements part of the work day.

The expected salary range for this position is $21.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
