Position Summary
The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting MRI procedures in alignment with established protocols and standards. This role requires proficiency in operating MRI equipment and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate imaging requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with physician orders.
- Engage with patients, providing clear explanations of procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Gather comprehensive medical histories from patients, integrating relevant clinical information into the imaging process.
- Oversee the entire imaging process, from preparation to the completion of results.
- Administer IV contrast materials as per departmental guidelines, documenting all relevant details.
- Assess the quality of imaging outputs, collaborating with radiologists to address any concerns.
- Provide essential patient care, monitoring conditions and responding to emergencies as needed.
- Assist in MRI-guided procedures, adhering to strict sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Maintain radiation safety standards for all personnel and patients in the imaging environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety and operational protocols.
- Support other medical staff during imaging procedures, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Stay informed about MRI safety regulations and best practices.
Physical Requirements
This position involves moderate to heavy physical activity, including lifting and transporting patients and equipment. The role may require various physical movements throughout the day, including standing, walking, and bending.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a degree from an accredited Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program or be actively enrolled in a qualifying program. Certification from ARRT or NMTCB is required, along with CPR certification.
