Role Overview
We are in search of a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to become part of our team, concentrating on our release operations.

This position is crucial to our software development lifecycle and will encompass the management, planning, scheduling, and oversight of the process involved in transitioning releases to testing and production environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead release operations from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet requirements, align with architectural goals, and adhere to all relevant standards.

  • Engage with project team members including Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers throughout all phases of solution development.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Release Operations, you will collaborate with a team of experts dedicated to building and maintaining enterprise-level tools that enhance CI/CD pipelines.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Infrastructure orchestration, reliability engineering, security, monitoring, and tool automation.
  • Gathering and clarifying requirements in partnership with the Release Management Team and Product Development to ensure thoroughness and mutual understanding.
  • Collaborating with architects and senior technologists on tool design and architecture.
  • Providing accurate cost estimates for efforts and timelines.
  • Participating in design reviews to offer insights on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential challenges.
  • Evaluating the impact of proposed scope changes on assigned deliverables.
  • Working alongside other engineering teams to foster a unified approach in providing tools that enhance the release process.

Engage closely with individuals passionate about improving processes, minimizing workflow inefficiencies, and tackling technical challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Collaborate with senior technical staff and Release Engineers to identify, document, plan contingencies, track, and manage risks and issues until resolution.

Mentorship
Guide and support junior team members, offering mentorship and feedback to promote their professional development.

Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote and office work. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 designated days per week, as determined by leadership, with a general expectation of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business requirements.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
