Bus Driver or Chaperone

As a Bus Driver or Chaperone with Independent School District 196, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school. This part-time position requires a valid Minnesota driver's license and a good driving record. If you enjoy working with children and are available to work mornings and afternoons, we encourage you to apply.

1. Operate a bus on designated routes and schedules, transporting only authorized students.
2. Perform daily pre-trip inspections on assigned buses.
3. Maintain proper student discipline according to district policies and department procedures.
4. Keep assigned buses clean and fueled.
5. Complete pre-trip logs, mileage, maintenance, accident, and discipline reports as required.

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Valid Minnesota driver's license with a good driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience.
3. Ability to work mornings and afternoons.
4. Enjoy working with children.
5. Demonstrate positive, safe, and responsible behavior.

1. Climbing on and off buses, bending, and squatting to assist students as needed.
2. Capable of assisting, moving, or dragging students in case of an emergency.
3. Exposure to elements, road dust, and occasional fuel and exhaust fumes.
