Key Responsibilities:
• Execute welding tasks using the GTAW method for rework, repairs, and cosmetic enhancements, adhering to customer specifications and internal protocols.
• Inspect castings to verify that preparation from previous processes meets quality standards.
• Determine appropriate welding techniques based on the condition of the castings.
• Prepare weld surfaces utilizing die and belt grinders as necessary.
• Operate and maintain welding machinery and tools effectively.
• Accurately document weld locations and dimensions.
• Comply with all safety regulations and practices.
• Availability for overtime work as required.
• Maintain consistent attendance and reliability.
Qualifications:
• Education: High School Diploma or GED; successful completion of a Weld Test meeting AWS D.1 standards with specified weld thickness.
• Experience: Formal training or coursework in welding is advantageous.
• Certifications: Must complete Selmet Inc. ISO Procedures and obtain NADCAP certifications for all assigned materials (including stainless steel and aluminum).
• Skills:
- Language Proficiency: Ability to read and comprehend safety guidelines, operational instructions, and technical documents.
- Communication: Capable of effectively interacting with team members, engineers, and management.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic and problem-solving involving various measurable units.
- Reasoning: Able to tackle practical issues and interpret diverse instructions in multiple formats.
Compensation:
Salary range: $ - $ per hour, with potential shift differentials.
Legal Requirements:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. This position involves access to information subject to ITAR regulations; therefore, all candidates must qualify as U.S. persons.
