Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • **Receiving and Inspection**: Verify the quality and count of all items unloaded from railroad cars, trucks, and trailers, and report any discrepancies to the relevant parties.
  • **Damage Claims**: Complete information on damage claims for in-transit damage and ensure prompt resolution.
  • **Inventory Management**: Record, report, and return defective items, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • **Material Handling**: Transport materials from the shipping dock using hand trucks or other vehicles as needed.
  • **Invoice Processing**: Process invoices, supplying necessary data to the accounting department for payment and recordkeeping.
  • **Forklift Operations**: Direct forklift drivers to store goods in identified areas and operate forklift trucks as needed.
  • **Documentation**: Document all related activities and complete forms and reports.
  • **Delivery Verification**: Accept, verify, inspect, and record all deliveries according to company policy.
Requirements
  • **Accuracy and Attention to Detail**: Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
  • **Logistics Knowledge**: Basic understanding of railway, dock, and warehouse procedures.
  • **Organizational Skills**: Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • **Technical Skills**: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Excel) and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
  • **Education and Experience**: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, and at least two years of work experience in a warehouse required.
  • **Physical Demands**: Must be able to traverse the distribution warehouse and access various storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching, and lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
