Maintenance and Automation Supervisor Job Description

The Maintenance and Automation Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, this individual will oversee a team of maintenance technicians, working closely with the Facilities Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Planner to maintain our supply center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance team in day-to-day operations, including supervising maintenance activities, directing/monitoring work performed by in-house teams and third-party contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and deliver formal individual performance reviews, promoting growth and development within the team.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in monitoring team performance, developing process improvement initiatives, and overseeing the activities/performance of third-party providers.
  • Assist in the development of strategies and plans to align with operational needs, minimize risks, and maximize efficiency of assets and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure maintenance operations are performed in a reliable and cost-effective manner, tracking open work orders and ensuring timely completion.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certified maintenance technician.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role, with maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to anticipate needs, multitask, manage shifting priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance within food manufacturing and distribution operations or similar operations, with multi-skilled electrical and mechanical disciplines, including hydraulic maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
