Pediatric ICU Nurse Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric ICU Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Las Palmas Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- ADN Required, BSN Preferred
- RN licensure in Texas or compact state
- BCLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and ACLS National Certification
- One year of management experience
- Acute Care experience
- Ability to develop a staff schedule, critical thinking ability, and ability to cope with crisis and emergency situations
- Communicates clearly and concisely, encourages team-building efforts, and ability to listen, empathize, and respond to patient, family, internal, and external partner needs
