Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate financial reports and analytics for various funding organizations in partnership with program leaders and staff.
  • Support revenue recognition policies in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) tailored for nonprofit entities.
  • Conduct audits, analyses, and reconciliations of ledger accounts to ensure data completeness and accuracy, exercising judgment to evaluate account balances.
  • Develop ad hoc reports as needed to clarify and interpret agency financial activities.
  • Prepare journal entries when required.
  • Review program financial statements with leadership to ensure adherence to funding agency contract stipulations.
  • Adhere to internal control policies and assist with external audits.
  • Compile reports to meet external reporting obligations, including midyear reporting, forecasts, cost reports, and grant follow-ups for funded programs.
  • Perform financial analyses as requested.
  • Engage in the formulation and preparation of budgets for new programs and contracts.
  • Assist in preparing annual operating budgets and financial forecasts as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Prepare materials for Finance Committee and Board of Director meetings, attending as directed.
  • Provide regional financial data to Finance Department leadership for consolidated financial statements.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in specialized areas through ongoing education and participation in relevant meetings.
  • Comprehend and uphold the organization's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

Experience

  • One to three years of professional accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
