About the Role
This position involves delivering high-quality, personalized care to patients in the cardiac telemetry unit. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and educating patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively with the care team will ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assessing patient conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Performing procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administering prescribed medications, monitoring the patient for therapeutic response, and taking appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Educating patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state where employed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with relevant experience.
