Job Summary

Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking a skilled Autoclave Operator to join our team in Bridgeport, WV. As an Autoclave Operator, you will play a critical role in the production of advanced aircraft and enabling technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify autoclave paperwork with proper cure specifications.
  • Attach all vacuum probes and TC wire to the appropriate connections in the autoclave.
  • Determine and program the autoclave computer for the appropriate cure temperature/time according to specifications.
  • Program and monitor the autoclave throughout the cure process.
  • Load and unload, demold and clean cure parts and tools.
  • Ensure proper disposal of used bagging material.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Keep a clean work area and in proper working order.
  • Participate in projects developing process improvement methods, solutions and may be required to enhance program quality, cost and scheduling.
  • Familiarization of lay-up process: handling mixing and applying various resin/catalyst materials.
  • Use of overhead crane and fork truck.
Requirements
  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
  • Proficient in the use of computers and equipment which utilizes computer software technology.
  • Must be a US Person.
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous composite lay-up or autoclave experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
  • Flexible to work extended hours. Must be able to work any shift.
  • Lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
