About the Role

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical teams and ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Assist patients with preparation for physician visits and examinations, as directed by the healthcare team.
  • Take and record patient vital signs, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical charts.
  • Understand and operate special equipment, including EKG, PFT, Audiometry, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Perform lab testing, such as UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other procedures as indicated by the performance evaluation checklist.
  • Maintain patient records, filing and reporting as directed.
  • Assist with billing and collections procedures as needed.
  • Utilize computer software to maintain office systems and ensure efficient data entry.
  • Identify and respond to confidentiality issues, upholding the highest standards of patient privacy.
  • Deliver patient-centered care, adapting to the unique needs of each patient population served.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the healthcare team.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including lifting, pushing, and standing for extended periods.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
