Coatings Specialist

At Lagoon Corporation, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and similar coatings to various materials, including metal, wood, plastic, and fiberglass.

• Apply paint and coatings using various techniques and equipment, including sprayers, rollers, and brushes.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance painting duties, such as steel and structural steel painting, sand blasting, and powder coating.
• Prepare and paint a variety of surfaces, including aluminum, ferrous metal, uncoated metal, plate, and other surfaces as specified.
• Protect and prime surfaces as appropriate, and apply finish coatings to Mil Spec requirements.
• Apply protective coatings to items such as miscellaneous metalwork, stairs, handrails, and door jams.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local occupational safety, health, and air pollution control regulations, including Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), and follow all safety precautions recommended by paint manufacturers.
• Correct work as directed, repair nicks, scratches, or other small imperfections in the finish.
