Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic customer service professional to join our organization.

The selected candidate will be responsible for registering patients by gathering essential demographic, insurance, and medical details, as well as collecting co-pays and deposits. This role involves completing a range of departmental tasks that require adaptability, meticulous attention to detail, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts interviews with patients to collect necessary demographic and insurance information for medical record identification and billing processes.
  • Enters patient registration data into the computer system and ensures the accuracy of the information provided.
  • Prepares required documentation for signatures from patients or their family members.
  • Requests and collects co-pays and deposits, providing receipts at the time of payment.
  • Discusses financial arrangements with patients and/or their family members, clarifying billing and collection policies.
  • Collaborates with medical and clinical staff regarding patient access, transfers between facilities, reimbursement matters, and authorization requirements.
  • May verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for upcoming procedures.
  • Handles insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Typically requires one (1) year of experience in an office or administrative setting.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License, with a suitable driving record and auto liability insurance as mandated by Texas law.
  • Mental and physical health must be adequate to meet the demands of the role.
  • Must comply with all client-related policies and procedures, including confidentiality agreements.
Skills Required
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software is preferred.
  • Must be an energetic, innovative individual with high ethical standards and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. The role may involve working under stressful conditions or irregular hours. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, and other typical clinic conditions is expected.

Employees may need to reach with hands and arms, and specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. A moderate noise level is typical in the work environment.

Employees may occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
