Job Overview

In this challenging role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on California's clean energy future. As a Senior Energy Policy & Planning Analyst, you will be part of the Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) group, which is responsible for advising high-level decision-makers on complex energy policy and energy market issues.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, policy, and communication skills, with experience in decarbonization problem-solving and a passion for energy or environmental sustainability.

About the Role

This limited-term position offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects related to integrated resource planning, resource procurement, transmission planning, and transmission and interconnection development issues. Your duties may include:

  • Conducting research and technical analysis on complex energy policy and energy market issues
  • Developing and refining parts of a complex regulatory proceeding in a team environment
  • Creative solutions to electric sector planning and procurement problems, taking into consideration market and policy implications
  • Contributing to the inputs, methodology, and analysis of results of energy modeling
  • Managing contracts with consultants providing technical support to the IRP process
  • Representing the Division in various high-profile settings
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as energy policy, economics, or environmental science. A master's degree is preferred. You should also have experience in energy policy, regulation, or a related field.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in energy policy, regulation, or a related field is required. Strong analytical, policy, and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in decarbonization problem-solving and a passion for energy or environmental sustainability.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $98,768 - $136,778 per year, depending on experience. We also offer excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
