Role Summary
The Hydraulic Systems Technician is responsible for executing various assembly and testing operations within the department. This role involves testing completed units according to established protocols using specialized equipment. Technicians will reference technical schematics and documented instructions while reassembling or modifying components as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct tests as specified.
  • Utilize micro-drills and lathes for part fabrication.
  • Monitor pressure gauges and flow meters, accurately recording data in compliance with standards.
  • Form conical shapes using swedge techniques.
  • Secure components with lock-wire and torque seals.
  • Adhere to daily production reports and directives from supervisors.
  • Maintain precise counts of parts for each task.
  • Install internal components using appropriate tools and fixtures.
  • Diagnose test failures, rework components, and propose corrective measures for supervisor approval.
  • Operate micro laser welding equipment.
  • Manage drill press operations for crimping.
  • Identify and document process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure all tools are maintained in optimal condition.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Keep the workspace and testing apparatus clean and organized.
  • Handle and dispose of chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Uphold all safety regulations and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
  • Recognize any discrepancies in routing and inform the supervisor for necessary adjustments.
  • Interpret and understand technical blueprints.
  • Comprehend basic hydraulic principles related to gauges, flow meters, and hydraulic assemblies.
  • Achieve a quality rating of 100% with less than 0.1% of components rejected due to technician error.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in Hydraulic Principles along with 1-2 years of relevant experience or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.

Language Proficiency

  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Capable of composing simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in individual and small group settings.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Competence in handling measurements related to currency, weight, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to apply common sense to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.
