Job Summary:

The RN II provides care to patients via the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ongoing systematic assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Formulate and implement goal-directed plans of care that prioritize patient outcomes and nursing diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care and coordinate unit activities.
  • Identify patient learning needs and implement education strategies to promote patient empowerment and self-care.
  • Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in unit and department performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and unit operations.
Requirements:
  • One year of recent experience in Critical Care or completion of a KP Critical Care Training Program within the past 12 months.
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program and completion of the current hours required by the BRN of RN student clinical experience; or Graduate of registered nursing program and either: hours of RN experience in clinical area of specialty from a licensed acute care facility within three (3) years of graduation; or 2) graduate of an accredited licensed vocational nursing program that includes clinical student experience in acute care and has worked 2000 hours as a licensed vocational nurse within the clinical area of specialty within three (3) years before graduation.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Critical Care course.
