Position Overview:


Under the guidance of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, the Speech-Language Therapy Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering speech and language services that complement Applied Behavior Analysis at Verbal Beginnings. This position is integral to our mission of offering clients a holistic range of services.

Our commitment to comprehensive care is reflected in the ancillary services provided in Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, and Mental Health.

The individual in this role will collaborate closely with the supervising SLP, BCBA, behavior therapists, and other service providers to foster a supportive and effective working environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Utilizes expertise and skills to deliver age-appropriate care for clients across various stages (infant, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult).

Exhibits proficiency, understanding, and empathy towards the physical, emotional, and socio-psychological needs of clients from infancy to young adulthood.

Assists licensed speech-language pathologists in conducting screenings or assessments related to language, voice, fluency, articulation, or auditory processing.

Implements treatment strategies or protocols as directed by speech-language pathologists.

Supports speech-language pathologists in enhancing or developing speech and language capabilities.

Collects and organizes data to document client progress or evaluate program effectiveness.

Records client advancements towards achieving set treatment goals.

Facilitates in-service training sessions, as well as educational programs for families and the community.

Performs administrative tasks such as preparing materials, maintaining records, managing supplies, and organizing activities.

Creates charts, graphs, or other visual aids to convey client performance data.

Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to safely and effectively use departmental equipment for client care activities.

Maintains necessary certification and licensure.


Engages in, promotes, and contributes to training initiatives at local, state, national, and international levels, including the creation and distribution of curricula, workshops, presentations, scholarly articles, book chapters, and textbooks.

Participates in both discipline-specific and interdisciplinary research.

Maintains an average of 30 hours of service delivery weekly in the field of speech-language therapy.

Qualifications:
Possession of a current license as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant in the state of practice.
