Role Summary

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of Linux-based systems. You will collaborate closely with our core architecture team to ensure compliance with industry standards and to develop scalable solutions tailored to our diverse business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy scalable Linux-based infrastructures that align with the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Work in conjunction with the architecture team to maintain alignment with IT standards and practices.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and deployment of Linux systems, ensuring adherence to security and compliance protocols.
  • Provide advanced support for Linux environments, including diagnosing complex issues and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation regarding system architecture, configurations, processes, and service records.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, advocating for the integration of innovative solutions that enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to guarantee that all Linux systems meet security and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, promoting best practices in Linux system management.
  • Stay informed about the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCE (RedHat Certified Engineer) or LFCE (Linux Foundation Certified Engineer).
  • Proficiency in configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and Agile methodologies.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Linux system administration or engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly RedHat or Ubuntu.
  • Strong experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Xen).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work model (combination of remote and in-office work).
