Position Overview: The Inspector NDE II (RT) is responsible for conducting inspections under supervision while providing mentorship. This role involves setting up and calibrating equipment, as well as interpreting and evaluating results in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications. Familiarity with technique limitations is essential. The inspector will organize and report findings, ensuring responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and Level I personnel. Inspections will be performed on components, assemblies, and associated documentation to confirm adherence to contract specifications. The focus is on delivering the highest quality products to clients. This position operates on the second shift.

Quality Production and Efficiency:
  • Utilize drawings and specifications to formulate a plan for basic manual inspections.
  • Assess parts to verify compliance with specified requirements as per inspection plans.
  • Complete inspection steps on the router to accurately indicate pass/fail status and document time for traceability.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper inspection techniques to achieve precise results.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections on precision machined products and assemblies independently.
Instruction and Guidance:
  • Effectively read all blueprints and work instructions.
  • Provide instruction and support to assigned employees and participate in training for welders and other lower-classification personnel as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor or designated representative.
Safety and Housekeeping:
  • Work may necessitate the use of scaffolding, ladders, forklifts, and/or scissor lifts.
  • Maintain a tidy work area free of clutter.
  • Adhere to safety practices at all times.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures, raising concerns when others are non-compliant.
  • Wear all required safety equipment for the work area.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Remain open to continuous improvement suggestions from others.
  • Bring forward continuous improvement ideas to the appropriate team member.

Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the necessary knowledge, training, experience, and abilities.

Education and Training:
  • Technical Trades School in Welding or Inspection.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • NDT Level II Certification in RT per ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
Experience:
  • NDT Training with required hours (80).
  • NDT Experience in total hours.
  • Hours can be verified and recorded per ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • This is a second shift position.
