We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at UPMC - Pittsburgh Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.
- Coordinate the setup and maintenance of surgical equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
- Assist in the preparation and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Support cost containment in the use of materials and equipment.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
- Completion of a formal surgical technician program.
- 3 years of current Operating Room experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of at least 2 surgical specialties with 1 year experience in selected specialty desired.
- CPR certification required.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance required.
