Job Summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Senior Field Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Management and Safety department, you will play a critical role in detecting, preventing, and mitigating safety risks in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field observations and driver observations to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Support the review of Supervisor's Incident Analysis Packet (SIAP) and provide subject matter expertise to help determine causal factors.
  • Collaborate with line of business and integrate with all levels of the organization to ensure mutual collaboration and safety awareness.
  • Perform technical safety regulator (Cal/OSHA, OSHA, ANSI) gaps in company requirements for High-Risk Projects.
  • Communicate safety trends and recommend safety corrective actions.
  • Coach LOB supervisors on new safety programs and serve as a Safety subject matter expert for LOB supervisors and field employees.
  • Consult with LOB Supervisors on incident investigations, SIAP completion, and corrective actions development.

Requirements

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Relevant experience, 5 years
  • Ability to have or obtain Safety professional certification, initial level, for example, ASP, CHST, CUSP, OHST, within 1 year of job placement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Safety professional certification, for example, CIH, CSP, CHMM
