We are currently seeking a per diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for our esteemed healthcare facility.
Our institution is a well-regarded 140-bed hospital located in a suburban area, known for its dedicated staff, with 40% having served for over 15 years.We provide a diverse range of cases and are at the forefront of innovative procedures. Our centers of excellence encompass various specialties, including orthopedics, cardiothoracic, vascular surgery, urology, and gastroenterology. We pride ourselves on utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and operate with Cerner EMR. Our facility is recognized as a magnet hospital.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is a licensed professional nurse who has successfully completed an accredited nurse anesthesia program and has passed the certification examination administered by the relevant certifying body.
In collaboration with an attending anesthesiologist, the CRNA is responsible for delivering comprehensive anesthetic care to patients.
The role of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is expanded within the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with established clinical protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates in pre-anesthetic preparation and assessment.
Administers intraoperative general anesthesia in collaboration with the attending anesthesiologist. Engages in the induction and maintenance of anesthesia at required levels. Monitors and adjusts the patient’s physiological status as necessary based on the type of anesthesia and individual patient needs.
Transfers care responsibility to other qualified providers post-operatively to ensure continuity and safety.
Provides professional and resuscitative care until the patient has regained stable vital functions. Administers spinal, epidural, caudal, and nerve block anesthesia. Supports departmental and operating room protocols to enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care.
Engages in additional responsibilities within the expertise of the CRNA. Collaborates with colleagues, visitors, and other staff in alignment with the core values of the institution.OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Punctuality and preparedness before the start of procedures are essential. Prepares patients for anesthesia and conducts preoperative interviews. Accurately collects and records patient data in the medical record system. Communicates effectively with the attending anesthesiologist to gather necessary information regarding patient care. Updates the care team on patient progress. Performs authorized clinical procedures as outlined in position privileges. Undertakes additional duties as required.
Cooperation with colleagues to achieve departmental goals:
Promotes safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. Participates in departmental meetings and initiatives aimed at meeting organizational objectives. Ensures proper functioning of invasive monitoring equipment. Flexibility in call requirements and rotations may be necessary due to departmental needs.
