Manufacturing Quality Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations. You will analyze processes, conduct quality inspections, and implement quality assurance practices to enhance product reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Dimensional support to the manufacturing plant.
- Development and/or revision of PPAP documentation.
- Supplier development activities as needed.
- Customer point of contact.
- Corrective and Preventive Actions generation.
- TS16949 procedures and work instructions development.
- Root cause analysis of quality issues.
- Other duties assigned by the Quality Manager.
- New platform program launch preparations.
- Newly launched platform programs tracking and customer-specific awards leading.
- Defect prevention/elimination, customer satisfaction increase, and cost savings through APQP techniques.
- Cross-functional team participation.
- Quality document preparation and/or assistance.
- Statistical data evaluation.
- Corrective action initiation and follow-up.
- Customer complaint analysis.
- Presentation preparation and execution.
- Product quality evaluation at customer locations.
- Faulty or suspicious finished product sorting and containment.
- Potential problems communication.
- Cosmetic matter acceptance criteria establishment.
- Equipment validation and MSA studies.
- Quality system document production.
- Assembly process quality support.
- Quality procedure follow-up.
- Corrective action follow-up.
- Engineering and PCR change evaluation and approval.
- Quality metric elaboration for managerial review.
- Auditor activity supervision and evaluation.
- Internal and external customer feedback.
- Laboratory test result notification receipt.
- Quality and environmental standards compliance.
- Personnel support and training provision.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong quality background.
- Previous Quality Engineering experience in an automotive environment is required.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A College degree in a technical field or equivalent experience and training is preferred.
Salary Information: The estimated annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$90,000.
