Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at ProCare Therapy and make a significant impact on students' development and educational success.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of students' functional abilities related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists (OTs) to develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and educational objectives.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and activities designed to improve students' motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor coordination, handwriting skills, and other areas impacting their ability to participate in school activities.
  • Provide direct one-on-one or group therapy sessions to students, both in designated therapy spaces and within classroom settings.
  • Recommend and assist in the selection and use of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and modifications to support students' functional performance and participation in school activities.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment and daily routines.
  • Monitor students' progress towards goals, document therapy sessions and outcomes, and provide ongoing feedback to OTs, teachers, and parents/guardians.
  • Provide education and guidance to parents and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support their child's occupational therapy goals at home.
  • Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and school district policies related to the provision of occupational therapy services.
Qualifications
  • Valid North Carolina State COTA license
