Staff Pharmacist

The Outpatient Staff Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care by reviewing and verifying prescriptions, conducting clinical reviews, and providing patient counseling. This position also involves administering vaccinations and serving as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, and ancillary department personnel. Additionally, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for compounding and dispensing prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals, as well as supervising and directing pharmacy technicians, interns, and support personnel.

• Verify and review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
• Conduct clinical reviews to assess patient medication regimens and provide recommendations for improvement
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and potential interactions
• Administer vaccinations and immunizations as needed
• Serve as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, and ancillary department personnel
• Compound and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, interns, and support personnel

• Current licensure as a Pharmacist in good standing in the State of Ohio
• Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree of equivalent
• Current BLS, immunization provider certifications

Please note that certifications not held upon hire must be acquired in congruence with the 90-day competency for the position. Temporary/contracted staff may receive an exception from the required certifications by the Director of Pharmacy or designee.
