Position Overview

Scripps Health Administrative Services plays a vital role in supporting our extensive network of hospitals and outpatient facilities, which collectively serve a significant number of patients annually through a large group of affiliated healthcare professionals.

This is a full-time position typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role is based at the Jefferson Clinic and may require flexibility to assist at other locations as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in significant telephone and patient portal interactions (80%) to coordinate care with patients and collaborate with healthcare providers and their teams.
  • Provide patient education, manage necessary documentation, process orders, handle prior authorizations, facilitate medication refills, assist in procedures, and perform occasional wound care.
  • Utilize minimal hands-on nursing skills in this role.
  • Work alongside other members of the patient care team to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Incentives:

This position qualifies for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K. The following categories are excluded from these incentives:

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago

Retention Incentive Criteria:

  • Must maintain original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in the offer letter).
  • Must remain in the original department/specialty.
  • Must retain the original job title.
  • Transfers to other locations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may lead to forfeiting remaining incentive bonuses unless explicitly stated in the offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current California RN License.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong phone communication skills, with the ability to assess, reassure, empathize, and provide direction over the phone.
  • Critical thinking skills to manage post-operative complications and identify patients with abnormal outcomes, ensuring effective care continuity for positive results.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism during high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience in Orthopedics as an RN.
  • Previous experience in a clinic or ambulatory care setting.
